Cherry

Cherry, also known as wild cherry, is a great value wood. It’s also very sought after in cabinetmaking for its compact texture and its amber colour that increases over time. It is a slow-growing wood and very demanding as to its setting. For these reasons, it’s availability is limited. The sapwood of the cherry is pale pink and its duramen varies from yellow honey to pinkish brown. Its grain is strain, slightly undulating and its grain is fine.

Drying moderately difficult
Gluing, wood attaches with very acidic glues
