Review of the French Timber General Assembly

Review of the French Timber General Assembly – February 14, 2025, in Vogelgrun
The French Timber General Assembly was held on February 14 in Vogelgrun, bringing together our colleagues and partners from the timber sector, of which we are members. This gathering provided a valuable opportunity to discuss export challenges and collaboratively shape a roadmap for 2025. Attendees also had the chance to visit the CLT Schilliger Bois SAS site, an enriching experience that showcased recognized expertise.
This year’s assembly was marked by a new dynamic, with the arrival of young industry players whose presence was particularly noticed and welcomed. The discussions, characterized by openness, curiosity, and mutual respect, underscored the strength of this community.
Florence Perrucaud, the dedicated President of French Timber and Export Manager of the Ducerf Group, emphasized the importance of such exchanges and collaborations in structuring a shared vision and strengthening our international presence.
Exports: A Key Lever for Our Companies
Exports have become a necessity, even in the softwood sector—something that might have seemed surprising just a few years ago. As always, it is a matter of balance, and we know that some will relate to this perspective.
Furthermore, it is essential to engage in in-depth discussions with upstream industry stakeholders to develop educational communication targeted at the general public. The objective is to explain and highlight the forest resource and the secondary qualities it offers.
A special thanks to the Fédération Nationale du Bois, France Bois Forêt, and their representatives, Maxime Chaumet and Nicolas Douzain, for their support and commitment.
“I am grateful for the sense of kindness, curiosity, and respect we shared—let us not forget that the sun shines for everyone. The playing field is vast, and whether one is an experienced exporter or taking their first steps, there is room for all in this endeavor. We will also cherish the moments of exchange during our post-assembly meal.”
