Ducerf Groupe expands its wooden cladding range with BARD Tiny

A tailored solution for Tiny House manufacturers
With the growing popularity of tiny houses—compact, mobile homes that combine eco-friendliness and practicality—Ducerf Groupe is enhancing its product range with a new wooden cladding profile specifically designed for this type of construction. Made from Thermo-Treated Poplar (THT), this cladding offers a perfect balance of lightness, durability, and aesthetics, meeting the regulatory and technical constraints of tiny house manufacturers.
This product is entirely manufactured in France, in our Charolais workshops, using locally sourced wood from sustainably managed forests.
What is a Tiny House?
A tiny house is a small, trailer-mounted home designed to provide a minimalist yet functional living space while being environmentally friendly. To comply with regulations and ensure easy transport, its total weight must not exceed 3.5 tons. This constraint requires careful material selection, favoring solutions that are both strong and lightweight.
"It is eco-friendly, crafted using an artisanal process, built with sustainable and recyclable materials, and insulated like a traditional wooden house." – Fanny Moritz
Which cladding for a Tiny House?
A lightweight, durable, and locally sourced wooden cladding
After years of collaboration with tiny house manufacturers, Ducerf Groupe is officially adding a dedicated cladding profile made from THT poplar to its product range. This local wood species, widely available in France and known for its rapid growth, is a natural choice for meeting the sector’s demands. Its inherent lightness helps reduce the overall weight of the structure without compromising quality.
Since poplar is not naturally durable, it undergoes a thermal treatment (THT) in our Bois Durables de Bourgogne facility. This 100% natural process enhances its resistance to insects and fungi while improving its dimensional stability. As a result, THT poplar cladding is perfectly suited for outdoor use without additional constraints.
Furthermore, this new profile features a 14 mm thickness, making it slimmer than the rest of our range and allowing for further weight optimization in tiny house construction.
"Choosing eco-friendly and locally sourced materials to minimize the carbon footprint is central to the design of these tiny houses. This commitment led us to opt for Made in France materials for nearly all components." – Rodolphe Duranceau & Jimmy Lugaz, Tybivouac
Wooden Cladding: A warm and functional aesthetic
Wooden cladding is widely appreciated for its natural and authentic appearance, adding a unique character to micro-housing projects. It blends seamlessly with its surroundings and promotes sustainable, nature-friendly architecture. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, it also offers excellent insulating properties.
With this new THT poplar cladding, Ducerf Groupe reaffirms its commitment to sustainable, locally sourced wood solutions and supports tiny house manufacturers in their search for materials perfectly suited to their specific needs.
