What uses are there for glued laminated tiles?
Interior and exterior joinery
Glued laminated strips or 3-ply strips are products designed for use in interior and exterior joinery to make windows and frames. The different combinations mean that costs can be optimised to suit different uses: visible joinery, 100% wood joinery, mixed joinery (aluminium and wood).
Wooden windows offer many advantages:
- great durability
- a very warm and attractive appearance
- good heat and sound insulation qualities,
- No warping when exposed to heat
Thanks to the finger-jointing technique, it is possible to manufacture very large wooden window frames. Wooden windows are attractive, insulating and durable.
3-ply and 4-ply scantlings
Our range of window boards offers different combinations, available for different uses, with 3 or 4 solid or finger-jointed lamellas (also known as multi-ply) glued together: KKK - DKD (3-ply) / KKKK - DKKD (4-ply)
> KKK / KKKK: all plies (inside and outside) are finger-jointed, which means that long lengths can be obtained and cuts optimised.
> DKD / DKKD: For aesthetic reasons, the outer plies are continuous planks. Only the middle strip can be finger-jointed.
These 3-ply squares or 4-ply squares can also be veneered, either on the edge to conceal the lamination joints, or on the faces to conceal the finger-joints.
Variety of wood species
We offer a wide choice of species for the manufacture of your exterior joinery (doors and windows, bay windows) or interior joinery (wall decorations, etc.): beech, oak (French oak or white/brown oak) or chestnut squares, etc.
A paint or varnish finish can be applied to these products depending on the species chosen and the end use.
Oak scanlings
Our oak squares are designed for exterior and interior applications, to be painted or varnished. The natural durability of oak gives these products strength and longevity to meet all your needs, making them ideal for work requiring great stability. Used outdoors, these products will stand up well to all types of weather.
Oak glued laminated tiles are extremely hard-wearing, look good and can be finished in a multitude of ways.
Beech scantlings
Beech is a hard wood with a particularly fine grain and a straight, homogeneous structure. Our beech tiles are designed exclusively for interior applications, in paintable quality. Beech also has an aesthetic advantage: the ribbed lines on its surface make it very elegant. Beech is a soft wood, making it easy to work and cut.
Glulam scantlings for every joinery project
Durable, stable scantlings
Glued-laminated and 3-ply strips are ideal for all applications that require the wood to be extremely stable. This is particularly true for exterior doors and windows, which are often subject to significant variations in humidity.
The wood used in the manufacture of our PROFILEO range comes from sustainably managed forests (PEFC certification). They are also CTB-LCA certified. This certification attests to the compatibility of the adhesive with the intended use and the quality of the machining and gluing.
Made-to-measure tiles scantlings
Our tiles are delivered unglued, but our design office is also at your disposal for any specific requests. We offer a number of services on request: planing, profiling and cutting to length.
