The home owner has harmoniously combined wood, plants, water, volumes and colours. The wood decking blends naturally into the decor and the use of smooth boards that alternate between diagonal and straight lines enhances the shape of pool and adds structure to the garden area.
The owner chose a local species of high-temperature treated hardwood (THT ash) for its technical, aesthetic and ecological benefits.
When heat-treated, ash is more durable and retains its form better, it is also more resistant to insects and fungal agents, making it suitable for outdoor use. With an overall stain, the timber tends towards a natural, slightly chocolate colour, close to that of exotic woods. Without a finish, it will develop a uniform grey hue.
